The new film, directed by Moonlight filmmaker Barry Jenkins, will explore Mufasa's origin story and his childhood with brother Scar. It dives into the brotherhood between Mufasa and Taka (Scar) before they became foes. The film is a prequel to 2019’s live-action The Lion King. Blue Ivy, voices Kiara, daughter of King Simba and Queen Nala, played by her mother, Beyonce.
